East Hackberry Field –
Doiron Wells –
Cameron Parish, Louisiana
The East Hackberry field is composed of a massive salt dome with oil and gas bearing sand reservoirs on top and on the flanks of the dome. The principal productive formations are the Camerina and Marginulina series of sands at depths between 5,000 feet and 7,500 feet.
In 2003, Wilcox acquired 100% W.I. in three producing oil wells and two shut in well bores. The wells were originally completed in 1985. The acquisition was predicated on the belief that the combination of improved production technology and increasing energy demand could justify the cost of improvements needed to optimize production and profitability.
Expectations…
Wilcox expects to complete a 12,000’ gas pipeline installation and to recomplete two of the five wells by early 2009. The recompletion would be in zones not previously produced. Production from the heretofore untapped zones is expected to consist primarily of natural gas with a condensate by-product.
